Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Penetration Law in Loose Granular Medium for the Chang’E 5 and Chang’E 6 Footpad

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
This study investigates the penetration behavior of the footpads used in the Chang’e-5 (CE-5) and Chang’e-6 (CE-6) lunar probes when interacting with granular materials.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Degradation Mechanisms and Efficiency of Heavily Cratered Regions on Ceres

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
Ceres, the dwarf planet in the main asteroid belt, hosts heavily cratered surfaces where craters are continuously eroded, mainly due to impact bombardment, with a limited influence by nonimpact processes.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Droplet impact phenomena in nanolithography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) is the next generation of photo-lithography technology used by the semiconductor industry for the manufacturing of integrated circuits. Fundamental understanding of the fluid dynamics inside this machine is crucial to optimize and stabilize the EUV light used in this machine.

Impact Disruption of Bjurböle Porous Chondritic Projectile

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
The ∼200 m s ^−1 impact of a single 400 kg Bjurböle L/LL ordinary chondrite meteorite onto sea ice resulted in the catastrophic disruption of the projectile.

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

Atmospheric Loss during Giant Impacts: Mechanisms and Scaling of Near- and Far-field Loss

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
The primary epoch of planetary accretion concludes with giant impacts—highly energetic collisions between protoplanets that can play a key role in shaping a planet’s inventory of volatile elements.
