Bioengineering tumor‐stroma pancreatic cancer models with potential to emulate the native immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Cancer‐on‐a‐bead models exhibited higher relevance for screening immunotherapies and modulating the protumoral PDAC microenvironment. ABSTRACT Pancreatic cancer is notably resistant to treatment, primarily due to its dense

This work presents ARC‐3D, a soft 3D model that recreates how brain support cells, called astrocytes, react to oxidative stress. The system visualizes rapid calcium changes and inflammatory signals, and shows how the drug KDS12025 can protect cells from damage. ARC‐3D offers a simple, reliable way to study early drivers of brain inflammation.

How can we keep impaired glucose tolerance and impaired fasting glucose from progressing to diabetes? [PDF]
Lifestyle interventions aimed at weight loss of 5% to 10% of body weight along with moderate aerobic exercise such as brisk walking for 150 minutes a week are the most effective means to prevent impaired fasting glucose (IFG) or impaired glucose ...

Evidence of a metabolic memory to early-life dietary restriction in male C57BL/6 mice [PDF]
<p>Background: Dietary restriction (DR) extends lifespan and induces beneficial metabolic effects in many animals. What is far less clear is whether animals retain a metabolic memory to previous DR exposure, that is, can early-life DR preserve ...

This study evaluates 3D‐printed recombinant spider silk hydrogel eADF4(C16)‐RGD in a rat AV loop model for tissue engineering. Constructs with T17b endothelial progenitor cells showed enhanced vascularization and biodegradation. Results highlight the importance of scaffold design and cellular integration in improving vascular density and overall ...
