Effect of Hydrophobic Acrylic Monomers with Different Alkyl Side Chain Lengths on Reducing the Glistening of Hydrophobic Acrylic Intraocular Lens Materials

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 9, Issue 41, November 4, 2024.
In this study, a new approach was attempted to reduce the glistening of intraocular lens materials by introducing hydrophobic acrylic monomers with different alkyl side chain lengths. We confirmed that with increasing alkyl side chain lengths, hydrophobicity increases, while the glistening decreases.

Clinical Outcomes of Toric Implantable Collamer Lens implantation

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society, 2009
Purpose: To assess the efficacy of the Toric Implantable Collamer Lens (Toric ICL) to treat moderate to high myopic astigmatism. Methods: Toric ICL was implanted in 77 eyes of 40 patients with myopia (spherical equivalent [SE] between 3.5 and 18.5 diopters [D]) and astigmatism between 1 and 6 D.

Clinical Observation of Posterior‐Chamber Phakic Implantable Collamer Lens V4c Implantation in Myopic Patients with Shallow Anterior Chamber Depth: A Retrospective, Consecutive Observational Study

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Purpose. The reference range for the preoperative anterior chamber angle width for ICL surgery is unclear. Our objective was to assess the clinical effect and the range of anterior chamber angle width of posterior‐chamber implantable collamer lens V4c (ICL V4c) implantation in patients with anterior chamber depth (ACD) < 2.8 mm. Methods.

Repeatability and Agreement of Central Vault for Implantable Collamer Lens Obtained by the Tomey OA‐2000 Biometer and Spectralis OCT

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Objective. To assess repeatability and agreement of central vault for implantable collamer lens (ICL) measured by the Tomey OA‐2000 biometry and Spectralis optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods. In this prospective study, the central vault was measured by the Tomey OA‐2000 biometer and Spectralis OCT in 84 eyes (43 patients) after ICL ...

Comparison of Predictability in Vault Using NK Formula and KS Formula for the Implantable Collamer Lens Surgery

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Background. This study aims to investigate the agreement between the NK and KS formulas in predicting the vault after implantation of an EVO‐implantable collamer lens (ICL). Methods. This retrospective study included 106 eyes of 57 patients who underwent ICL‐V4c implantation.
