Crosstalk between decidual natural killer cells and extravillous trophoblasts at the maternal-fetal interface: current status and future perspectives

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
The immune tolerance microenvironment is essential for the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy at the maternal-fetal interface. The maternal-fetal interface is a complex system containing various cells, including decidual stromal cells ...

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Multimodal Soft Surgical Robots Enabled by Eco‐Degradable, Sterilizable Polymers and Transient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A compostable PGS soft surgical robot with interchangeable modules integrates transient Mo tactile and Si thermal sensors for dual feedback. The device preserves its function after clinical‐grade sterilization, demonstrates stable actuation and cardiac tissue grasping with real‐time in vivo pulsatile monitoring, and biodegrades post‐use with soil‐safe,

Factors affecting outcome after autologous chondrocyte implantation for the treatment of osteochondral defects of the knee

open access: yes, 2015
Some studies on autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) have demonstrated little benefit over other techniques and few have demonstrated a lasting benefit.

Reduction of boron diffusion in silicon-germanium by fluorine implantation

open access: yes, 2004
This paper investigates the effect of a 185 keV, 2.3×1015cm-2 F+ implant on boron thermal diffusion and boron transient enhanced diffusion (TED) in SiGe by characterising the diffusion of a boron marker layer in samples with and without a 288 keV, 6 ...

Insulin resistance as a determinant of fertilization efficiency in polycystic ovary syndrome patients undergoing IVF/ICSI: a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesReproductive Biology and Endocrinology
Background This retrospective cohort study aimed to evaluate the impact of insulin resistance (IR) on clinical outcomes in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI ...

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Detection of small bunches of ions using image charges

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
A concept for detection of charged particles in a single fly-by, e.g. within an ion optical system for deterministic implantation, is presented. It is based on recording the image charge signal of ions moving through a detector, comprising a set of ...
