Neurogenesis and the Epigenetic Landscape: Role of Histone Modifications and Chromatin Remodeling

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
Histone methylation and acetylation modulate gene expression by inducing chromatin condensation or relaxation, which in turn regulates transcriptional activity and impacts neurogenesis. ABSTRACT Aims The purpose of this review is to examine how epigenetic regulation particularly chromatin modification and histone methylation controls gene expression ...

Imprint cytology of the astrocytic tumors

open access: yesThe Journal of the Japanese Society of Clinical Cytology, 2003

Loss of METTL3 m6A methyltransferase results in short‐term progression and poor treatment outcome of bladder cancer patients

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 3, Page 763-774, 1 February 2026.
What's new? Bladder cancer exhibits a highly heterogeneous molecular landscape and treatment response. The dysregulation of RNA modifications such as m6A has been involved in cancer initiation and progression. This study comprehensively analyzed the expression of the main catalytic component of the m6A methylation machinery in bladder tumors across one

Time‐Resolved Fluorescence and Diffuse Reflectance (TRF‐DR) Spectroscopy for Heterogeneous Breast Tissue Classification and Tumor Margin Assessment

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, Volume 19, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study demonstrates our time‐resolved fluorescence and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy system can classify breast tumor in heterogeneous tissue. It achieved sensitivity and specificity comparable to other techniques and highlights the effect of heterogeneous measurements on performance.

Intraoperative Diagnosis of Neoplastic Lesions by Imprint Cytology and Frozen Section with Histopathological Correlation

open access: yesMedical Journal of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, 2023
Introduction: Intraoperative consultation examinations are required by surgeons from pathologists for immediate important decisions regarding the optimal extent of surgery. Surgeons particularly want to know whether a lesion is malignant or not.

Patterns of Interploidy Admixture in Polyploid Complexes: Insights From Thymus Sect. Mastichina (Lamiaceae)

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 3, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Understanding gene flow between ploidy levels in polyploid complexes is essential for species delimitation and conservation. This study explores evolutionary dynamics in the polyploid complex Thymus sect. Mastichina (Lamiaceae), comprising three taxa: T. mastichina subsp. mastichina, T. mastichina subsp.

Imprint cytology of the chromophobe renal cell carcinoma: Correlation with the histological and ultrastructural features

open access: yesJournal of Cytology, 2011
Chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (ChRCC) is a unique entity of renal cell carcinoma and has a low malignant potential. A correct cytological diagnosis can help to decide the suitable management and operation.

CD30 as a Target Molecule in the Diagnosis and Therapy of Lymphomas

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, Volume 101, Issue 1, Page 110-128, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‐receptor superfamily 8 receptor CD30 molecule is expressed in all tumor cells of Hodgkin lymphoma and anaplastic large cell lymphoma but is only weakly expressed in a small subset of large lymphoid cells in normal peripheral lymphoid tissues.

Imprint cytology: A diagnostic aid in interpretation of upper gastrointestinal endoscopic biopsies

open access: yesJournal of Digestive Endoscopy, 2014
Context: Although major advances have occurred in the cytological diagnosis of various organ pathologies, gastrointestinal (GI) cytology has not gained popularity and is only occasionally practiced in the form of brushings and washings.
