Differential and Temporal Immunomodulation of alpha4 Integrins on CD4+ Memory Cells by Bordetella pertussis and Bordetella parapertussis [PDF]
Pertussis, caused by Bordetella pertussis (B. pertussis), is reemerging worldwide due to vaccine inefficacy. The hallmarks of infection are extreme lymphocytosis and delayed recovery, which are partially associated with pertussis toxin.

Disordered vortex arrays in a two-dimensional condensate
We suggest a method to create turbulence in a Bose-Einstein condensate. The method consists in, firstly, creating an ordered vortex array, and, secondly, imprinting a phase difference in different regions of the condensate. By solving numerically the two-

Development of a Molecular-Imprinted-Polymer based sensor for the electrochemical determination of Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP) [PDF]
.The explosive triacetone triperoxide (TATP), which can be prepared from commercially readily available reagents following an easy synthetic procedure, is one of the most common components of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Recommendations for a nomenclature system for reporting methylation aberrations in imprinted domains
The analysis of DNA methylation has become routine in the pipeline for diagnosis of imprinting disorders, with many publications reporting aberrant methylation associated with imprinted differentially methylated regions (DMRs).

[NiFe]‐hydrogenases efficiently catalyze hydrogen conversion, but their instability limits biotechnological applications. Here it is shown that encapsulating hydrogenase into hierarchical COFs with macro‐ and micropores and functionalized with sulfonic or carboxylic acid groups improves enzyme stability and electron transfer to electrodes.

UBE3A-mediated regulation of imprinted genes and epigenome-wide marks in human neurons
The dysregulation of genes in neurodevelopmental disorders that lead to social and cognitive phenotypes is a complex, multilayered process involving both genetics and epigenetics.

From Imprinting to Adaptation: Building a History of Affective Interaction [PDF]
We present a Perception-Action architecture and experiments to simulate imprinting—the establishment of strong attachment links with a “caregiver”—in a robot. Following recent theories, we do not consider imprinting as rigidly timed and irreversible, but

Solitons and vortices in ultracold fermionic gases
We investigate the possibilities of generation of solitons and vortices in a degenerate gas of neutral fermionic atoms. In analogy with, already experimentally demonstrated, technique applied to gaseous Bose-Einstein condensate we propose the phase ...
