Role and Relevance of PEPT1 in Intestinal Absorption and Pharmacokinetics of 5-Aminolevulinic Acid. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Peptide transporter 1 (PepT1), a member of the proton-coupled oligopeptide transporter family, is known to transport di-/tri-peptides and peptidomimetics across biological membranes.

Reconstructing Quantitative Cerebral Perfusion Images Directly From Measured Sinogram Data Acquired Using C-arm Cone-Beam CT [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
To shorten the door-to-puncture time for better treating patients with acute ischemic stroke, it is highly desired to obtain quantitative cerebral perfusion images using C-arm cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) equipped in the interventional suite.

Inhibition of P-glycoprotein expression and function by anti-diabetic drugs gliclazide, metformin, and pioglitazone in vitro and in situ

open access: yesResearch in Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2016
P-glycoprotein (P-gp) is a trans-membrane drug efflux pump. Several drugs are P-gp substrates. Some drugs may affect the activity of P-gp by inhibiting its function, resulting in significant drug-drug interactions (DDIs).

Framework to generate perfusion map from CT and CTA images in patients with acute ischemic stroke: A longitudinal and cross-sectional study [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Stroke is a leading cause of disability and death. Effective treatment decisions require early and informative vascular imaging. 4D perfusion imaging is ideal but rarely available within the first hour after stroke, whereas plain CT and CTA usually are.

Deep generative computed perfusion-deficit mapping of ischaemic stroke [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Focal deficits in ischaemic stroke result from impaired perfusion downstream of a critical vascular occlusion. While parenchymal lesions are traditionally used to predict clinical deficits, the underlying pattern of disrupted perfusion provides information upstream of the lesion, potentially yielding earlier predictive and localizing signals.
