Comparative Dissolution Kinetics of Several Multisource Thioctic Acid Products
The relationship between dissolution and bioavailability is an example of the interdependency between the quality of a medicinal product and its safety and efficacy.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Application of biorelevant saliva-based dissolution for optimisation of orally disintegrating formulations of felodipine [PDF]
The oral cavity is of great importance to the performance of orally retained formulations, including: orally disintegrating tablets, taste-masked formulations, and buccal/sublingual delivery systems.

Lipid-based formulations (LBFs) play a crucial role in enhancing the oral bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs by leveraging lipid digestion and solubilization processes. However, developing robust in vitro–in vivo correlations (IVIVCs) for LBFs

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Insights into the biopharmaceutical behavior of oral lipid-based formulations using advanced analytical techniques and mathematical modeling [PDF]
Lipid-based formulations (LBFs) are effective means for the oral delivery of poorly water-soluble compounds. The drug is already solubilized in the formulation and, thus, the critical dissolution step is circumvented. However, the oral bioavailability is

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Enhancement of oral bioavailability of risedronate through xyloglucan rafts
Bisphosphonates irritate the stomach and oesophagus and have a very limited absorption. The purpose of this study was to increase risedronate (RDN) oral bioavailability by causing a raft to form in the stomach.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
