Raman micro-spectroscopy can be used to investigate the developmental stage of the mouse oocyte.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
In recent years, the uptake of assisted reproductive techniques such as in vitro fertilisation has risen exponentially. However, there is much that is still not fully understood about the biochemical modifications that take place during the development ...

Effects of oocyte source on the developmental competence of in vitro matured goat oocytes fertilized by the intracytoplasmic sperm injection technique

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, 2009
This study evaluated the effects of oocyte source on in vitro maturation (IVM) and embryo developmental competence in goats by the intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) technique. Oocytes were obtained either by laparoscopic ovum pick-up (LOPU) or by slicing of abattoir ovaries.

Evaluation of Different Techniques in Recovering of Oocytes and Storage Duration of Ovaries on the Quality and Quantity of Bovine in Vitro Maturation

open access: yesBuletin Peternakan, 2020
This study aimed to evaluate different recovery techniques of oocytes and the duration time between ovary collection and processing in the laboratory on the quality and quantity of Simmental cross bovine oocytes in vitro maturation. A total of 75 bovine ovaries were divided into three groups. Experiment-1;  the storage duration of ovaries were 6, 9 and

Obstetrical and Neonatal Outcomes of 3,028 Singletons Born After Advanced ART Techniques: Ejaculated Sperm Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, Artificial Oocyte Activation, in Vitro Maturation and Testicular Sperm Extraction

open access: yesFertility & Reproduction, 2021
Background: To evaluate obstetrical and neonatal outcomes of singletons conceived after advanced assisted reproductive technology (ART) techniques: conventional IVF pregnancies (C-IVF), ejaculated sperm intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), assisted oocyte activation (AOA), in vitro maturation (IVM), and testicular sperm extraction (TESE). Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

The invasive and new non-invasive methods of mammalian oocyte and embryo quality assessment: a review

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2012
The quality of oocytes-embryos can be determined by several techniques, including morphological, molecular, cellular and biochemical ones. The morphological methods of female gamete or embryo quality assessment often use thе following in vitro ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Determination of non-invasive viability markers for human embryos in in vitro fertilization. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The major challenge currently facing human in vitro fertilization (IVF) programs is the prevention of multiple gestation pregnancies. The replacement of multiple embryos to fertility patients is common practice to increase pregnancy rates.

Vitamin C Improves Oocyte In Vitro Maturation and Potentially Changes Embryo Quality in Cattle

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences
Simple Summary Assisted reproductive technology including in vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and in vitro culture (IVC) of embryos is widely used both for humans and animals.
