Successful generalization of conceptual knowledge after training to remember specific events
IntroductionCategorization involves grouping information to make inferences and support novel decisions. In the laboratory, category learning tasks commonly involve trial-and-error where participants are instructed to classify stimuli and learn through ...

Working memory and its relation to deterministic sequence learning. [PDF]
Is there a relation between working memory (WM) and incidental sequence learning? Nearly all of the earlier investigations in the role of WM capacity (WMC) in sequence learning suggest no correlations in incidental learning conditions.

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Novel behavioral indicator of explicit awareness reveals temporal course of frontoparietal neural network facilitation during motor learning. [PDF]
Deficits in sequential motor learning have been observed in many patient populations. Having an understanding of the individual neural progression associated with sequential learning in healthy individuals may provide valuable insights for effective ...

Incidental learning of event frequency [PDF]
Two experiments studied the effect of intentionality of learning on memory for the frequency of occurrence of words on a list. Subjects who learned the items intentionally in preparation for an unspecified memory test remembered frequency as accurately as did those who studied specifically for a frequency-estimation test. Both groups recalled frequency

Environment Context Variability and Incidental Word Learning: A Virtual Reality Study
Previous research has shown that changes in the scenarios in which something is learned and recalled, respectively, may result in a subpar performance in memory recollection.
