Highly Enantioselective Organocatalysis with Bidentate Halogen Bond Donors
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 64, Issue 30, July 21, 2025.In a model Mukaiyama aldol reaction with unbiased substrates, high enantioselectivity was achieved with a modifiable bidentate iodine(I)‐based halogen bonding organocatalyst. The crucial role of halogen bonding was confirmed by the low performance of the corresponding hydrogen bond donor and via DFT calculations.

Advanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 22, June 12, 2025.A quinoline‐based mediator is introduced for the electrochemical etherification of C(sp3)─H bonds, enabling the process with minimal dependence on substrate electronic properties. The reaction demonstrates compatibility with various C─H bonds, including tertiary benzylic C─H bonds and unactivated C(sp3)─H bonds.
