The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

DEVELOPMENT OF NEW MEDIUM TERMED ECOL FOR DETECTION OF ESCHERICHIA COLI [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 1998
A new medium, termed Ecol was developed for the detection and enumeration of E. coli. The selective properties of Ecol medium for the detection of E.coli from mixed culture in wastewater was tested and compared with conventional coliform media at 37°C ...

A Synthetic Signal Varied Weight Indicator in Bacteria

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Biomolecular computing devices always work in a complex biochemical environment. The weight which shows the importance degree of a specific signal may vary in different environments because it may be influenced by other signals even in the absence of ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Survival of Fecal Contamination Indicator Organisms in Soil [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Soils amended with human or animal waste may result in pathogen contamination of ground and surface water. Because temperature has been shown to affect pathogen survival, two laboratory studies were conducted to evaluate the impact of extremes in ...

FECAL INDICATOR BACTERIA AND AQUATIC PATHOGEN BACTERIA VIBRIOS IN NAI LAGOON, NINH THUAN

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Marine Science and Technology, 2009
Monitoring fecal pollution using fecalindicator bacteria (fecal coliform - FC) and common aquatic pathogen bacteria group of Vibrios are crucial criteria for integration coastal zone mallagement.FC and Vibrio were an alyzed following standard method. Density of FC and Vibrio varied temporally and not depend on total particulate of organic matler (with ...

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.
