Measurement of Bovine IgG by Indirect Competitive ELISA as a Means of Detecting Milk Adulteration [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2004
The aim of this work was to develop an assay capable of detecting adulteration of high premium milk with milk from cheaper sources. An indirect, competitive ELISA was developed for the rapid detection of cows' milk in the milk of goat, sheep, and buffalo. The assay uses a monoclonal antibody produced against bovine IgG.

INDIRECT AND COMPETITIVE ELISA AS A TOOL FOR DIAGNOSIS OF BRUCELLOSIS IN VACCINATED AND INFECTED CATTLE [PDF]

open access: yesAssiut Veterinary Medical Journal, 2011
The results of an indirect ELISA (iELISA) and a competitive ELISA (cELISA) for detection of antibody to Brucella melitensis in cows were compared with those of conventional serological tests.

Development and Comparative Evaluation of a Competitive ELISA with Rose Bengal Test and a Commercial Indirect ELISA for Serological Diagnosis of Brucellosis [PDF]

open access: yesIndian Journal of Microbiology, 2011
The development of a competitive ELISA for the detection of brucella-specific antibodies in bovines is described. Anti-brucella guinea pig serum was used as a source of competing antibodies. Lipo-polysaccharide purified from inactivated B. abortus S19 culture was used as antigen for the development of the assay.

Comparison of Various Rose Bengal Plate Tests, Serum Tube Agglutination Tests, and Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays Used in Brucellosis Serosurveillance in Sheep, Bovines, and Spotted Deer [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences
Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease causing significant economic losses, and necessitating standardized diagnostic kits for effective surveillance. The objectives of this study are to investigate brucellosis serosurveillance in ruminants, and to evaluate ...

TOXOCARIASIS: SEROLOGICAL DIAGNOSIS BY INDIRECT ANTIBODY COMPETITION ELISA [PDF]

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 1999
Toxocariasis is caused by infection of man by Toxocara canis and Toxocara cati larvae, the common roundworm of dogs and cats. Because larvae are difficult to detect in tissues, diagnosis is mostly based on serology. Non specific reactions are observed mainly due to cross-reactivity with Ascaris sp antigens.

Detection of Glycosylated and Deglycosylated Extensin Precursors by Indirect Competitive ELISA [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1987
A competitive indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed for the rapid quantitation of the glycosylated and deglycosylated forms of the monomeric soluble extensin precursor subunits P1 and P2. A log-linear response range for each kind of precursor in the competition curve was between 0.01 and 100 nanograms per milliliter.

Development of an indirect competitive ELISA for the detection of acenaphthene and pyrene [PDF]

open access: yesFood and Agricultural Immunology, 2017
ABSTRACTPolycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have mutagenic and carcinogenic properties. Acenaphthene and pyrene were members of 16 PAHs which were listed as the priority pollutants in water environment by US Environmental Protection Agency. The reported instrumental methods and immunoassays did not meet the need for simple and sensitive detection ...
