CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Measurement of unsteady pressures in rotating systems [PDF]

open access: yes
The principles of the experimental determination of unsteady periodic pressure distributions in rotating systems are reported. An indirect method is discussed, and the effects of the centrifugal force and the transmission behavior of the pressure ...

Nonlinear regression in tax evasion with uncertainty: a variational approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
One of the major problems in today's economy is the phenomenon of tax evasion. The linear regression method is a solution to find a formula to investigate the effect of each variable in the final tax evasion rate. Since the tax evasion data in this study

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Predicting Chemical Body Composition Using Body Part Composition in Boer × Saanen Goats

open access: yesRuminants
Two experiments were conducted to determine which part of the empty body of Boer × Saanen intact male kids can be used to predict the chemical composition of the whole body.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Determination of Reference Interval for Serum Homocysteine, Magnesium, and Uric Acid from Tertiary Care Hospital Data By the Bhattacharya Method

open access: yesCurrent Medical Issues
Introduction: Direct ways of establishing reference intervals for analytes are time-consuming and costly. Bhattacharya analysis is an indirect way to mathematically derive reference intervals from the results of analytes in a hospital database and is ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...
