Breaking the Recycling Bottleneck of Thermosets via Bio‐Tailoring Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Recyclable thermosets are achieved by using the Bio‐Tailoring technology. The Bio‐Tailoring technology effectively addresses the longstanding paradox surrounding the recyclable and reuse properties of thermosets, breaking the recycling bottleneck of thermosets.

Quantitative Fluorescence Excitation Spectra for Synthetic Eumelanin [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
Previously reported excitation spectra for eumelanin are sparse and inconsistent. Moreover, these studies have failed to account for probe beam attenuation and emission reabsorption within the samples, making them qualitative at best. We report for the first time quantitative excitation spectra for synthetic eumelanin, acquired for a range of solution ...

Halogenated indoles eradicate bacterial persister cells and biofilms

open access: yesAMB Express, 2016
The emergence of antibiotic resistance has necessitated new therapeutic approaches to combat recalcitrant bacterial infections. Persister cells, often found in biofilms, are metabolically dormant, and thus, are highly tolerant to all traditional ...

Squaraine Dyes for Organic Photomultiplication Photodetectors with 220% External Quantum Efficiency at 1240 nm

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a range of squaraine dyes is reported with maximum absorption in solution above 1100 nm. Near‐infrared sensitive organic photomultiplication photodetectors are developed. Photomultiplication occurs via squaraine hole trap‐induced injection of electrons from the external circuit.

A mathematical model for chemoimmunotherapy of chronic lymphocytic leukemia [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Immunotherapy is currently regarded as the most promising treatment to fight against cancer. This is particularly true in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, an indolent neoplastic disease of B-lymphocytes which eventually causes the immune system's failure.

Self‐Propelled In Situ Polymerized Nanoparticles Activating the STING Pathway for Enhanced Bladder Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐propelled nanomedicine delivery system forms DMCU nanoparticles in the bladder via in situ polymerization of dopamine hydrochloride, Mn2+, cGAMP, and urease. The urease‐driven propulsion enhances retention and drug delivery. These nanoparticles activate the STING pathway, stimulating dendritic cells and T cells to boost anti‐bladder cancer ...

Pd/C-Mediated synthesis of indoles in water

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
We describe the utility of a Pd/C-Cu mediated method in the synthesis of 2,5-disubstituted indoles in water via a coupling-cyclization strategy.

Unveiling the Excited‐State Dynamics and Interfacial Interactions in Dye‐Sensitized NaNdF4 Nanoparticles for Efficient Photothermal Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new class of efficient photothermal agents based on dye‐sensitized NaNdF4 is developed. The coordination and aggregation states of cypate dyes on lanthanide nanoparticles are identified, revealing the influence of interfacial interactions on resonant energy transfer and synergetic heat generation.
