Influence of the Diet on the Intestinal Microbiota [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Introduction: The microbiota was defined as the set of micro-organisms that coexist in symbiosis in our body and that could be modified by diet, drugs, habits and fulfills functions of metabolism and immunity.

Total Synthesis of Tambromycin Enabled by Indole C–H Functionalization [PDF]

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2018
The total synthesis of tambromycin (1), a recently isolated tetrapeptide, is reported. This unusual natural product possesses a highly modified tryptophan-derived indole fragment fused to an α-methylserine-derived oxazoline ring, and a unique noncanonical amino acid residue named tambroline (11).

Total Synthesis of Pentacyclic (−)-Ambiguine P Using Sequential Indole Functionalizations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
The first synthesis of a pentacyclic ambiguine (ambiguine P) is reported. The synthesis takes advantage of sequential alkylations of an indole core to rapidly construct the pentacyclic framework of the natural product. Key to the success of the synthesis was the use of a Nicholas reaction to alkylate at C2, crafting a fused seven-membered ring that is ...

Determination of Free and Total Indole-3-acetic Acid and of the Indole Index

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1964
Abstract A new method is described for measurement of the urinary excretion of free and total indole-3-acetic acid and for obtaining the chromogenic value of the total indoles. The color reaction employed is Fischl's (1) tryptophan reaction. Hydrolysis and extractions were done by Weissbach's (2) procedure.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Zwitterionic Self‐Assembled Monolayer for Simultaneous Noise Suppression and Hole Extraction in High‐Performance Near‐Infrared Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a new hole transporting material (HTM) mechanism for self‐assembled monolayers in near‐infrared organic photodetectors. The formation of zwitterions induces a strong electric field that significantly increases the work function of HTM‐coated indium tin oxide substrates. The devices exhibit low dark current and noise, along with high
