Nuclear Pore Mechanotransduction in Oncology: A Structural Axis of Vulnerability for Targeted Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated NPC remodeling creates a high‐flux, low‐stringency nuclear state that supports malignant adaptation but increases mechanical fragility. Targeting the FG‐barrier or NPC scaffold may drive mechanostat failure, envelope rupture, DNA damage, and loss of nuclear integrity.

GDF15 is dispensable for the insulin-sensitizing effects of chronic exercise

open access: yesCell Reports
Summary: Growth and differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) has recently emerged as a weight loss and insulin-sensitizing factor. Growing evidence also supports a role for GDF15 as a physiological, exercise-induced stress signal.

Gut dysbiosis was inevitable, but tolerance was not: temporal responses of the murine microbiota that maintain its capacity for butyrate production correlate with sustained antinociception to chronic morphine

open access: yesGut Microbes
The therapeutic benefits of opioids are compromised by the development of analgesic tolerance, which necessitates higher dosing for pain management thereby increasing the liability for drug dependence and addiction.

Photoacoustic Nanotagging for In Vivo Tracking and Optimization of Macrophage Immunotherapy in Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Macrophage‐based immunotherapy for solid tumors is limited by poor tracking of cell localization and persistence. This study introduces nanotagged macrophages enabling near‐infrared photoacoustic imaging for real‐time monitoring. IFNγ‐conjugated tags enhance antitumor polarization without harming viability.
