The Role of Endogenous Opioid System in the Regulation of Heart Tolerance to Stress-Induced Damage
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2017In Wistar rats, stress was modeled by 24-h immobilization in a supine posture and stress-induced damage to the heart was assessed by accumulation of 99mTc-pyrophosphate in the myocardium. The intensity of stress reaction was measured by serum levels of cortisol and insulin.

Systemic H2O2 signaling mediates epigallocatechin-3-gallate-induced cadmium tolerance in tomato
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2022Toxic heavy metal cadmium (Cd) reduces crop yield and threatens human health via the food chain. The bioactive flavonoid 'Epigallocatechin-3-gallate' (EGCG) affects plant stress response; however, the function of EGCG in Cd tolerance and the molecular pathways remain largely unknown.

Drug and Alcohol Dependence, 1997
The endogenous ligand for the cannabinoid receptor, arachidonylethanolamide (anandamide), has been shown to produce antinociception using the tail-flick test following intrathecal administration. Anandamide was administered i.p. (40 mg kg) to mice four times per day for 3 days.

An inducible antigen system to investigate CD8 T cell tolerance (99.46)
The Journal of Immunology, 2009Abstract The induction of peripheral tolerance is critical for deterrence of autoimmunity. Most self-reactive T cells are deleted during development in the thymus. However, this deletion process is not absolute and self-reactive T cells can escape to the periphery.

Systemic tolerance of osmotically induced oncolysis in rats.
Journal of the National Cancer Institute, 1983Acute necrosis of R3230AC mammary tumor or thyroid carcinoma subcutaneously implanted in F344 rats was achieved by injection of a strongly hypertonic hexose and serotonin solution at 37 degrees C into and around the tumors. Changes in gross metabolism, hematology, and blood chemistry were then followed over a 9-day period, and they were most marked ...

An in vitro radiation induced mutagenesis-selection system for salinity tolerance in sugarcane
Sugar Tech, 2009In vitro radiation induced mutagenesis-selection was employed for salt tolerance in popular Indian sugarcane cv. Co 86032. Radiosensitivity characterized in terms of growth rate and cell viability indicated 20 Gy as LD50 for embryogenic sugarcane callus cultures. Response of embryogenic calli exposed to different NaCl concentrations (85.6, 128.3, 171.1,

Modeling of externally-induced/common-cause faults in fault-tolerant systems
AIAA/IEEE Digital Avionics Systems Conference. 13th DASC, 2002Modeling fault behaviors such as fault occurrences and active/benign durations is an essential step to the design and evaluation of fault-tolerant controller computers. We use a beta-binomial distribution to model fault occurrences both in the presence and in the absence of environmentally-induced (thus common-cause) faults.

Fault-Tolerant Memory System Architecture for Radiation Induced Errors
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1982A fault-tolerant memory (FTM) architecture is presented which can be used to overcome soft memory errors induced by alpha particles, cosmic radiation, or other random sources. The characteristics of the FTM are presented, a mathematical model is developed, and numerical examples are considered to illustrate the effectiveness of the approach.

Ultraviolet Light-Induced Immune Tolerance Is Mediated via the Fas/Fas-Ligand System
The Journal of Immunology, 1998Abstract Hapten sensitization through UV-exposed skin induces tolerance that is mediated via the induction of hapten-specific T suppressor cells. However, the detailed mechanisms underlying tolerance induction remain unclear to date. We show here that the apoptosis-related surface Ag Fas (APO-1, CD95) and its ligand, Fas ligand (FasL)
