Inertial Measurement Unit for Trajectography
2021 2nd International Conference on Range Technology (ICORT), 2021This document presents a technological breakthrough regarding electro-optics systems used for accurate measurement of the position of flying objects in Test Ranges. The innovation presented here consists in using an “Inertial Measurement Unit” (IMU) installed as close as possible to the optronic sensors in the core of the payload.

Measuring Arm Motions Using the Inertial Measurement Unit
2020 IEEE 2nd Global Conference on Life Sciences and Technologies (LifeTech), 2020This paper describes how to detect arm motions using Inertial measurement unit (IMU). The authors propose a method to attach the IMU to an upper arm and a lower arm as so to obtain the arm’s attitude information from the sensor’s data and thereby to detect the arm’s motions. Our experiment has shown that the arm’s flexion can be detected.

Calibration of an Inertial Measurement Unit
International Applied Mechanics, 2017A new method for the calibration of inertial measurement units of strapdown inertial technology is proposed. Such a unit consists of accelerometers, gyroscopes, and a signal processing system. The method of test turns and rotations on a rotary table is used to calibrate the inertial measurement unit.

The Rise of Inertial Measurement Units
2017An inherent aspect of the development of wearable and wireless systems has been the progressive evolution of the inertial measurement unit. Although when preliminarily recommended for quantifying the aspects of human movement, the inertial measurement was not sufficiently developed for application as a wearable and wireless system.

Internal calibration of a camera and an inertial measurement unit
2013 21st Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2013In this paper, we address the problem of internal calibration of a camera and an inertial measurement unit (IMU). The internal calibration of a camera and an IMU requires the determination of the relative orientation and displacement between the camera and the IMU.

Fault Detection and Isolation for Inertial Measurement Units
2012 IEEE 51st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2012This paper addresses the problem of Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) for navigation systems equipped with sensors providing inertial measurements and vector observations. Two strategies are proposed. The first one takes advantage of existing hardware redundancy, providing sufficient conditions for the isolation of faults.

Static and dynamic validation of inertial measurement units
Gait & Posture, 2017Optical motion capture systems are used to assess human motion. While these systems provide a reliable analysis, they limit collection to a laboratory based setting. Devices such as Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) have been developed as alternative tools. Commercially available IMUs are utilized for a variety of applications; however limited work has

Quantifying Lumbar Mobilization With Inertial Measurement Unit
Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, 2020Lumbar mobilization is a standard intervention for the management of low back pain, yet ways to quantify lumbar mobilization are limited. An inertial measurement unit (IMU) is a small and inexpensive device that can be used to quantify lumbar mobilization.

Compact MEMS magnetometers for inertial measurement units
2012 IEEE Sensors, 2012This work discusses the performance, in particular in terms of minimum obtainable resolution, for Lorentz force based MEMS magnetometers, both accounting for technological constraints (minimum air gap, package pressure, standard industrial process, …) and considering the final application in consumer electronics (bandwidth, noise, full scale range and ...
