Exosome‐Mediated Delivery of PROTACs for Targeted Protein Degradation in Cancer, Neurodegenerative, Infectious, and Inflammatory Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 15, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Proteolysis‐targeting chimeras (PROTACs) are heterobifunctional molecules that hijack the ubiquitin‐proteasome system to drive catalytic, sub‐stoichiometric degradation of disease‐associated proteins, offering a mechanistic advantage over occupancy‐driven inhibitors and access to ‘undruggable’ targets.

Palmitic Acid Promotes Antiviral Innate Immunity via ZDHHC20‐Mediated CMPK2 Palmitoylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 37, 3 July 2026.
Metabolites have important functions in innate immune activation and regulation. Wang et al. uncover metabolic regulation of antiviral immunity through CMPK2 palmitoylation, which regulates CMPK2 mitochondrial localization and is promoted by ZDHHC20 but reversed by PPT1, inhibition of which antagonizes viral infection in mice.

Ecology of Low Pathogenicity Avian Influenza Virus H7 in Wild Birds in South‐Eastern Australia Prior to Emergence of High Pathogenicity Avian Influenza H7 in Poultry

open access: yesInfluenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Adding to the global burden of high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1, five HPAI H7 outbreaks occurred globally in 2024. Of these, three occurred in South‐East Australia, with the independent emergence of HPAI H7N9, H7N8 and H7N3, resulting in the destruction of 2 million poultry.

Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Multi‐Metallic Nanozymes With Colorimetric and Catalytic Amplification for Rapid and Highly‐Sensitive Detection of Influenza A

open access: yesExploration, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2026.
The application of nanozymes in LFIA greatly improved the situation of insufficient colorimetric signals by catalytic reaction. 3D magnetic multi‐metallic nanozymes integrated the characteristics of great magnetism, enhanced colorimetric signal, and outstanding POD‐like activity, and were applied to LFIA for rapid and accurate detection of Influenza A ...

PCR for Detection of Oseltamivir Resistance Mutation in Influenza A(H7N9) Virus

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2014
Sensitive molecular techniques are needed for rapid detection of the R292K oseltamivir-resistant mutant of influenza A(H7/N9) virus strain to monitor its transmission and guide antiviral treatment.

Transmission of H7N9 influenza virus in mice by different infective routes [PDF]

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2014
On 19 February 2013, the first patient infected with a novel influenza A H7N9 virus from an avian source showed symptoms of sickness. More than 349 laboratory-confirmed cases and 109 deaths have been reported in mainland China since then. Laboratory-confirmed, human-to-human H7N9 virus transmission has not been documented between individuals having ...

Development and Validation of a Nomogram to Predict Respiratory Failure With Influenza

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Influenza‐induced respiratory failure is a severe complication of influenza that can rapidly progress to multi‐organ failure or even death due to severe impairment of pulmonary ventilation or gas exchange function. Early prediction and intervention can decrease the mortality in patients with respiratory failure. Methods A comprehensive

Applying Baculovirus Surface Display Technology for Influenza Cytokine Profiling, Serological Detection and Antiviral Screening

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2026.
By displaying the hemagglutinin (HA) or neuraminidase (NA) proteins of influenza viruses on the surface of baculoviruses and infected insect cells, a safe and flexible pseudovirus system capable of performing cytokine analysis, serological detection and antiviral drug screening is established.
