Peripheral Neutrophil Activation and Extracellular Trap Formation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Markers of neutrophil activation are increased in plasma during ALS, and markers of NET formation associate with ALS survival. ABSTRACT Objectives Peripheral neutrophil levels in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) inversely correlate with survival, suggesting a role for neutrophils in disease progression.

Synaptic representation of locomotion in single cerebellar granule cells
The cerebellum plays a crucial role in the regulation of locomotion, but how movement is represented at the synaptic level is not known. Here, we use in vivo patch-clamp recordings to show that locomotion can be directly read out from mossy fiber ...

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Potential herb–drug interactions between anti-COVID-19 drugs and traditional Chinese medicine
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has spread worldwide. Effective treatments against COVID-19 remain urgently in need although vaccination significantly reduces the incidence ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Assembly of the Auditory Circuitry by a Hox Genetic Network in the Mouse Brainstem [PDF]
Rhombomeres (r) contribute to brainstem auditory nuclei during development. Hox genes are determinants of rhombomere-derived fate and neuronal connectivity.

Double-Granule Conditional-Entropies Based on Three-Level Granular Structures
Rough set theory is an important approach for data mining, and it refers to Shannon’s information measures for uncertainty measurements. The existing local conditional-entropies have both the second-order feature and application limitation.
