Corrosion of steel in concrete due to one and two dimensional chloride ingress

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
This paper presents results of an ongoing research of the effect of 1D and 2D chloride ingress on concrete resistivity and corrosion rate of steel reinforcement.

Prediction of Ingress Through Turbine Rim Seals: Part 2—Combined Ingress

open access: yes, 2010
In Part1 of this two-part paper, the orifice equations were solved for the case of externally-induced ingress, where the effects of rotational speed are negligible.

Chloride ingress in concrete::limestone addition effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Analysis and evaluation of experimental results of chloride ingress, and chloride-induced corrosion resistance, of concrete made with Portland limestone cement (PLC), mined from 169 globally published literature from 32 countries since 1989, yielding a ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Chloride ingress in de-icing salt-exposed bridge: Numerical modeling and field investigations

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
This research focuses on assessing the durability of various components of an onshore section of the Original Champlain Bridge in Montreal, specifically in relation to chloride ingress from de-icing salting operations.

Prediction of Ingress Through Turbine Rim Seals—Part II: Combined Ingress

open access: yes, 2011
In Part I of this two-part paper, the orifice equations were solved for the case of externally induced (EI) ingress, where the effects of rotational speed are negligible.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Efficiency of self-healing cementitious materials with encapsulated polyurethane to reduce water ingress through cracks

open access: yesMateriales de Construccion, 2018
Cracks in reinforced concrete elements can cause major durability issues due do the accelerated ingress of aggressive substances. In this study, repair of cracks was addressed by incorporating encapsulated polyurethane based healing agents in the ...

Concept Study of Construction Ingress

open access: yes, 2008
The purpose of this thesis is to, on Volvo Truck’s account, look at a new concept for the construction ingress used on construction vehicles which have a higher ground clearance than ordinary trucks. The high ground clearance makes it hard for the driver
