FEBS Letters, EarlyView.We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Inhibitory effects of peroxidase on the growth of mycoplasmas.
Nippon Saikingaku Zasshi, 1987 本論文では,細菌,真菌,一部のウイルスと同様にマイコプラズマもperoxidase-H2O2-halide系により,その増殖が抑制されることを明らかにした。過酸化水素産生株である,Mycoplasma pneumoniae (M. pneumoniae)ではその培養系にperoxidaseやcatalaseを添加すると,その増殖は抑制された。また加熱により不活化した酵素では,その抑制作用は消失した。過酸化水素非産生株であるM. salivariumでは,peroxidaseとともに過酸化水素を添加した場合のみに酵素による増殖抑制が認められた。この事実は今後マイコプラズマ感染症に対する生体の防御機構を解析する上で重要であると考えられる。

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
