Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Active Learning and CSI Acquisition for mmWave Initial Alignment [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2019
Millimeter wave (mmWave) communication with large antenna arrays is a promising technique to enable extremely high data rates due to the large available bandwidth in mmWave frequency bands. In addition, given the knowledge of an optimal directional beamforming vector, large antenna arrays have been shown to overcome both the severe signal attenuation ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Extracting the Non-ObservableStates in Alignment & Calibration Process for Gimballed Inertial Navigation Systems [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه علوم و فناوری فضایی, 2014
This paper presents a method for calculation the non observable states in alignment and calibration process in gimballed inertial navigation system, using estimation method in static linear system and heuristic optimization algorithms. The non observable

Results of the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative 2015. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Ontology matching consists of finding correspondences between semantically related entities of two ontologies. OAEI campaigns aim at comparing ontology matching systems on precisely defined test cases. These test cases can use ontologies of different nature (from simple thesauri to expressive OWL ontologies) and use different modalities, e.g., blind ...

Interphase Microtubules Determine the Initial Alignment of the Mitotic Spindle [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 2007
In the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe, interphase microtubules (MTs) position the nucleus [1, 2], which in turn positions the cell-division plane [1, 3]. It is unclear how the spindle orients, with respect to the predetermined division plane, to ensure that the chromosomes are segregated across this plane.

Fast Fine Initial Self-alignment of INS in Erecting Process on Stationary Base

open access: yes, 2017
Fine initial alignment is vital to the Inertial Navigation System (INS) before the launching of a missile. The existing initial alignment methods are mainly performed on a stationary base after the missile has been erected to the vertical state. However,

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Improved Multistage In-Motion Attitude Determination Alignment Method for Strapdown Inertial Navigation System

open access: yesSensors, 2019
This paper derives an improved multistage in-motion attitude determination alignment (IMADA) for strapdown inertial navigation system, which integrates the traditional IMADA and the designed dual velocity-modeling IMADA, as well as the multiple repeated ...
