Adaptive control with saturating inputs

1986 25th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1986
An extension of the results from Goodwin, Ramadge and Caines [1] to the case where the input of the linear system saturates is presented. A necessary condition for closed loop stability of such a system is shown to be that the system must remain in a region from which y(t) = 0 is reachable with saturating inputs.

Input saturation: academic insights and future trends

International Journal of Systems Science, 2021
Input saturation is very important for the analysis and design of control system. Ignoring the input saturation will have an adverse effect on the control system, and even cause the control system ...

PI Control with Input Saturations

2003
We start our investigations with the basic case of PI control, with actuator saturation and on plants of dominant first order. This situation covers a very large percentage of industrial cases. It is also the most simple one and will serve as a building block for more involved cases.

Integral control with saturating input

UKACC International Conference on Control. Control '96, 1996
In this paper we consider the problem of integral low-gain control of stable finite-dimensional, single-input single-output systems with positive steady-state gain. The linear plant is subject to a sector-bounded actuator nonlinearity such as saturation or dead-zone. We show that provided the integral gain is small enough then the closed-loop system is

Constraints on inputs: actuator saturation

2012
This chapter is concerned with designing controllers for linear systems subject to input saturation with the purpose of achieving internal stabilization. This is a prelude to most of the subsequent chapters, and presents basic problem statements of global and semi-global internal stabilization, necessary and sufficient conditions under which such a ...
