Angewandte Chemie, EarlyView.Nach einer weitverbreiteten Annahme erfährt der Cobalt‐basierte Fischer‐Tropsch‐Katalysator eine anfängliche Aufrauung, die zu einer Aktivitätssteigerung führt und vom hohen chemischen Potential des Kohlenstoffs getrieben wird. In der vorliegenden Operando‐STM‐ und DFT‐Untersuchung simulieren wir solche Bedingungen.
