Size‐Modulated Mesoderm‐Endoderm Divergence and Myocardial Cavitation in Micropatterned Cardioids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micropatterned cardioids, CRISPR‐engineered reporter hiPSCs, deep‐tissue imaging, and single‐cell RNA sequencing are integrated to model mesoderm‐endoderm co‐development. Heart‐foregut crosstalk promotes single large cavitation inside cardioids, resembling early heart chamber formation. ABSTRACT The human heart, originating from the splanchnic mesoderm,

Utilizing communication strategies to enhance reflective learning in Ethiopian EFL classrooms

open access: yesHeliyon
Various studies have extensively examined classroom communication patterns in active language learning classrooms at higher education levels. However, research in the Ethiopian context is limited. While these studies contribute significantly to the field,

Evaluation of Evidence-Based Practices in Online Learning: A Meta-Analysis and Review of Online Learning Studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A systematic search of the research literature from 1996 through July 2008 identified more than a thousand empirical studies of online learning. Analysts screened these studies to find those that (a) contrasted an online to a face-to-face condition, (b ...

A Microbial Lipid‐ATP Synthase Axis Fuels NK Cell Antitumor Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study focuses on the mechanism by which gut microbiota‐derived outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) regulate NK cell antitumor activity. B. intestinalis is identified to decrease extra‐intestinal tumor growth via its OMVs enriched in sphingosine (SP).

An Activity‐Dependent NEPAS–PTX3 Axis Links Neurovascular and Myelin Deficits to Cognitive Impairment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An activity‐dependent pathway links prefrontal circuit hypoactivity to cognitive impairment. Reduced PVA–mPFC activity upregulates NEPAS, which suppresses PTX3 secretion, leading to impaired angiogenesis, myelin deficits, and memory decline. Rescue is achieved by NEPAS knockdown or chemogenetic circuit activation.

Students’ interpersonal connections with peers and staff at the start of higher education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Establishing positive social relationships is important for students’ success and retention in higher education (HE). This can be especially challenging during the transition into HE since students often move to a larger educational setting and need to

Generation of CCR4/CD7 Bispecific CAR‐T Cells Resistant to Fratricide and Exhaustion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The applications of CAR T‐cell therapy in T‐cell malignancies face limitations such as fratricide, effector‐cell exhaustion, and antigen‐escape. Herein, we developed fratricide‐ and exhaustion‐resistant CAR‐T cells that targeted CCR4 and CD7 simultaneously, with optional EGFRt safety switch. Additionally, scRNA‐seq unveiled new molecular targets, which

Sertoli Cell‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Orchestrate Cadmium‐Induced Testicular Inflammation and Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Environmental cadmium exposure disrupts testicular homeostasis through a novel intercellular communication axis. Stressed Sertoli cells release extracellular vesicles carrying damage‐associated molecular patterns and mitochondrial fragments, which activate macrophages via TLR4/NF‐κB signaling.
