Effects of negative energy balance on liver gene and protein expression during the early postpartum period and its impacts on dairy cow fertility [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
End of project reportNegative energy balance (NEB) is a severe metabolic affecting high yielding dairy cows early post partum with both concurrent and latent negative effects on cow fertility as well as on milk production and cow health.

Mechanically and Chemically Defined PEG Hydrogels Improve Reproducibility in Human Cardioid Development

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Synthetic matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)‐degradable polyethylene glycol (PEG)‐based hydrogels are developed to investigate the influence of mechanical and biochemical cues on cardioid development. Matrix stiffness and cell adhesion motifs significantly regulate cardioid formation, chamber morphogenesis, contractile function, and cardioid transcriptome.

IGF-I and IGFBP-3 serum levels in patients hospitalized for complications of liver cirrhosis

open access: yesAnnals of Hepatology, 2013
Background. IGF-I and IGFBP-3 are part of IGF system and, due to their predominantly hepatic synthesis, they seem to correlate with hepatic dysfunction intensity. Aims.

Stimulation of body weight increase and epiphyseal cartilage growth by insulin like growth factor [PDF]

open access: yes
The ability of insulin-like growth factor (IGF) to induce growth in hypophysectomized immature rats was tested by continuous infusion of the partially purified factor at daily doses of 6, 21, and 46 mU for an 8-day period.

Engineering Assembloids to Mimic Graft‐Host Skeletal Muscle Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a graft‐host skeletal muscle assembloid model combining neuromuscular organoids with tissue‐engineered constructs. Pre‐seeding decellularized muscles with myogenic cells enhances cell migration and axon invasion from the organoid. The model exhibits regenerative capacity following acute damage, advancing the understanding of human ...

The Interaction of Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 3 (IGFBP-3) in Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF)-Independent System

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2017
Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3) is the most abundant IGFBP in circulation, interacts with high affinity to IGFs altering their function. Emerging evidence has indicated that IGFBP3 mostly involved in human disease such as diabetes,

Growth, zero distribution and factorization of analytic functions of moderate growth in the unit disc [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We give a survey of results on zero distribution and factorization of analytic functions in the unit disc in classes defined by the growth of $\log|f(re^{i\theta})|$ in the uniform and integral metrics. We restrict ourself by the case of finite order of growth.

Engineered 3D Kidney Glomerular Microtissues to Model Podocyte‐Centric Diseases for the Validation of New Drug Targets

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The study introduces innovative 3D microtissues that replicate the glomerular filtration barrier of the kidney, offering a novel platform for understanding podocytopathies. These microtissues simulate the glomerulus's structure and dynamics, allowing for the modeling of podocyte injuries and drug testing.

Causal associations between the insulin-like growth factor family and sarcopenia: a bidirectional Mendelian randomization study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
ObjectiveInsulin-like growth factor (IGF) is closely associated with sarcopenia, yet the causal relationship of this association remains unclear.
