Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

On the Representation of the Goursat Boundary Problem Solution for the First Order Partial Derivatives Stochastic Hyperbolic Equations

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2023
We study the standard canonical form of a stochastic analog of a system of linear partial differential equations of first order hyperbolic type with Goursat boundary conditions.

Localized low-frequency Neumann modes in 2d-systems with rough boundaries

open access: yes, 2004
We compute the relative localization volumes of the vibrational eigenmodes in two-dimensional systems with a regular body but irregular boundaries under Dirichlet and under Neumann boundary conditions.

Integrable boundary conditions for the Toda lattice [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1995
The problem of construction of the boundary conditions for the Toda lattice compatible with its higher symmetries is considered. It is demonstrated that this problem is reduced to finding of the differential constraints consistent with the ZS-AKNS hierarchy. A method of their construction is offered based on the Bäcklund transformations.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Nonzero positive solutions of a multi-parameter elliptic system with functional BCs

open access: yes, 2017
We prove, by topological methods, new results on the existence of nonzero positive weak solutions for a class of multi-parameter second order elliptic systems subject to functional boundary conditions. The setting is fairly general and covers the case of

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Existence results for nonlinear boundary-value problems with integral boundary conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2005
In this paper, we investigate the existence of solutions for a second order nonlinear boundary-value problem with integral boundary conditions. By using suitable fixed point theorems, we study the cases when the right hand side has convex and ...

A computational method for the Helmholtz equation in unbounded domains based on the minimization of an integral functional

open access: yes, 2012
We study a new approach to the problem of transparent boundary conditions for the Helmholtz equation in unbounded domains. Our approach is based on the minimization of an integral functional arising from a volume integral formulation of the radiation ...

On the solvability of parabolic and hyperbolicproblems with a boundary integral condition [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2002
We prove the existence, uniqueness, and the continuous dependence of a generalized solution upon the data of certain parabolic and hyperbolic equations with a boundary integral condition. The proof uses a functional analysis method based on a priori estimates established in nonclassical function spaces, and on the density of the range of the linear ...
