Integrated chassis control system to enhance vehicle stability

International Journal of Vehicle Design, 2000
Vehicle stability enhancement system, by controlling vehicle dynamics, is the latest active safety technology introduced since Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Traction Control System (TCS). This system provides the driver with enhanced vehicle stability and handling.

Networked simulation for the design of an integrated chassis control system

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
This paper presents a networked simulation for an integrated chassis control system of AFS (Active Front Steering) and ITD (Intelligent Torque Distribution). Integration of each chassis control system is used to overcome the limit of performance when each chassis controller is used individually.

Integrated Chassis Control for Improving On-Center Handling Behavior

SAE International Journal of Passenger Cars - Mechanical Systems, 2014
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper proposes a new integrated chassis control (ICC) using a predictive model-based control (MPC) for optimal allocation of sub-chassis control systems where a predictive model has 6 Degree of Freedom (DoF) for rigid body dynamics.

Integrated Chassis Control with Optimal Tire Force Distribution for Electric Vehicles

2015 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 2015
For a full x-by-wire electric vehicle, an integrated chassis control method is proposed with optimal tire force distribution. The aim is to achieve better performance for vehicle handling and stability. A quadratic programming method is used in the optimal tire force distribution, in which the desired vehicle body forces, including longitudinal and ...

Design of active roll control system and integrated chassis control for hybrid 4WD vehicles

2011 14th International IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2011
This paper presents a method for designing an active roll control system (ARCS) and an integrated chassis control (ICC) for hybrid 4-wheel drive vehicles (H4Vs). ARCS adopts an active anti-roll bar as an actuator. ARCS is designed by sliding mode control with an open-loop roll observer.

Development of Integrated Chassis Control System for Vehicle Handling Enhancement

ASME 2008 Dynamic Systems and Control Conference, Parts A and B, 2008
Various active chassis control systems have been developed to improve vehicle handling and stability. Brake-based electronic stability programs and advanced driveline technologies can distribute different wheel torque to all four wheels to regulate vehicle motion.

Improvements in vehicle handling through integrated control of chassis systems

International Journal of Vehicle Autonomous Systems, 2002
In this paper methods of improving vehicle stability and emergency handling using electronically controlled chassis systems are discussed. By analysing a simple nonlinear vehicle model in the yaw plane, it is shown that vehicles can become unstable during portions of handling manoeuvres performed at or close to the limit of adhesion.

Decoupling control of chassis integrated system for electric wheel vehicle

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2019
In order to eliminate the mutual interferences among the differential assist steering system, the active suspension system and the electrical stability control, this paper proposes a sliding mode decoupling control strategy based on the inverse system method for the electric wheel vehicle.

A novel integrated chassis controller for full drive-by-wire vehicles

Vehicle System Dynamics, 2015
In this paper, a systematic design with multiple hierarchical layers is adopted in the integrated chassis controller for full drive-by-wire vehicles. A reference model and the optimal preview acceleration driver model are utilised in the driver control layer to describe and realise the driver's anticipation of the vehicle's handling characteristics ...
