Cdc42 promotes transendothelial migration of cancer cells through β1 integrin.
Cancer cells interact with endothelial cells during the process of metastatic spreading. Here, we use a small interfering RNA screen targeting Rho GTPases in cancer cells to identify Cdc42 as a critical regulator of cancer cell-endothelial cell ...

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Kindlin Regulates Mechanosensitive Activation and Adhesion Assembly of Integrin beta6
Inside‐out and outside‐in activations of integrin both play important roles in adhesion formation and cell motility. While such mechanisms of RGD‐binding integrin, including integrin β1 and β3, are well documented, mechanosensitive regulations of ...

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third leading cause of cancer death worldwide and the most common primary tumor. Periostin (POSTN) is located in the extracellular matrix (ECM) and triggers tumor growth signals by binding to integrin receptors.

The Role of the Extracellular Matrix in Cancer Stemness
As our understanding of cancer cell biology progresses, it has become clear that tumors are a heterogenous mixture of different cell populations, some of which contain so called “cancer stem cells” (CSCs).

Regulatory Mechanism of ITGBL1 in the Metastasis of Colorectal Cancer
Integrin, beta-like 1 (ITGBL1) protein is located in the extracellular matrix (ECM) and involved in the development and metastasis of many tumors. However, the regulatory mechanism of ITGBL1 in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear.

A role for Syk-kinase in the control of the binding cycle of the β2 integrins (CD11/CD18) in human polymorphonuclear neutrophils [PDF]
A fine control of β2 integrin (CD11/CD18)-mediated firm adhesion of human neutrophils to the endothelial cell monolayer is required to allow ordered emigration.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
