From Stability to Escalation: Temporal Dynamics of Discursive Risk in NATO’s Facebook Communication on the Ukraine–Russia War

open access: yesSocial Sciences
This article examines how NATO adapted its public communication during the 2022–2025 Ukraine–Russia war by analysing over 1400 Facebook posts through an integrated interpretive–computational approach.

Modelling the X-ray spectra of high velocity outflows from quasars

open access: yes, 2004
High velocity outflows from supermassive black holes have been invoked to explain the recent identification of strong absorption features in the hard X-ray spectra of several quasars.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Intrinsic noise of a superheated droplet detector for neutron background measurements in massively shielded facilities

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
Superheated droplet detectors are a promising technique to the measurement of low-intensity neutron fields, as detectors can be rendered insensitive to minimum ionizing radiations.

Comparison of strategies for monitoring and treating patients at the early phase of severe traumatic brain injury: the multicentre randomised controlled OXY-TC trial study protocol

open access: yesBMJ Open, 2020
Introduction Intracranial hypertension is considered as an independent risk factor of mortality and neurological disabilities after severe traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Scale-up of prevention programmes: sustained state-wide use of programme delivery software is explained by normalised self-organised adoption and non-adoption

open access: yesImplementation Science, 2022
Background Population-level health promotion is often conceived as a tension between “top-down” and “bottom-up” strategy and action. We report behind-the-scenes insights from Australia’s largest ever investment in the “top-down” approach, the $45m state ...

Increasing the performance of the Far Eastern Railway traction power supply system

open access: yesВестник Научно-исследовательского института железнодорожного транспорта, 2022
Introduction. The purpose of the study is to develop measures determined by the strategic programmes for the development of Russian railway transport based on the analysis of power supply schemes for the traction network of the Far Eastern Railway, a ...

The (un)resolved X-ray background in the Lockman Hole

open access: yes, 2004
Most of the soft and a growing fraction of the harder X-ray background has been resolved into emission from point sources, yet the resolved fraction above 7 keV has only been poorly constrained.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

A Randomised, Controlled Study of Different Glycaemic Targets during Gestational Diabetes Treatment: Effect on the Level of Adipokines in Cord Blood and ANGPTL4 Expression in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Endocrinology, 2018
Our aim was to study the expression of adipokine-encoding genes (leptin, adiponectin, and angiopoietin-like protein 4 (ANGPTL4)) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and adipokine concentration in cord blood from women with gestational ...
