Morphology-Aware Interactive Keypoint Estimation

open access: yes, 2022
Diagnosis based on medical images, such as X-ray images, often involves manual annotation of anatomical keypoints. However, this process involves significant human efforts and can thus be a bottleneck in the diagnostic process. To fully automate this procedure, deep-learning-based methods have been widely proposed and have achieved high performance in ...

Outcome aware ranking in interaction networks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 19th ACM international conference on Information and knowledge management, 2010
In this paper, we present a novel ranking technique that we developed in the context of an application that arose in a Service Delivery setting. We consider the problem of ranking agents of a service organization. The service agents typically need to interact with other service agents to accomplish the end goal of resolving customer requests.

INTERACTIVE AND LINEAR MATERIAL AWARE DEFORMATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Shape Modeling, 2007
Most real world objects consist of non-uniform materials; as a result, during deformation the bending and shearing are distributed non-uniformly and depend on the local stiffness of the material. In the virtual environment there are three prevalent approaches to model deformation: purely geometric, physically driven, and skeleton based.

How do learners perceive interactional feedback? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Theoretical claims about the benefits of conversational interaction have been made by Gass (1997), Long (1996), Pica (1994), and others. The Interaction Hypothesis suggests that negotiated interaction can facilitate SLA and that one reason for this could

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Comment une friche ferroviaire se transforme en quartier durable : Le quartier Écoparc à Neuchatel en Suisse

open access: yesVertigO, 2009
Fallow railway areas represent a significant building potential at the very city centers. In a context of increasing awareness of the environmental and social consequences of extensive urbanism, recycling such areas in view of new neighborhood building ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Order-aware Interactive Segmentation

open access: yesCoRR
Interactive segmentation aims to accurately segment target objects with minimal user interactions. However, current methods often fail to accurately separate target objects from the background, due to a limited understanding of order, the relative depth between objects in a scene.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
