Complement at the Nano–Neuroimmune Interface: A Hypothesis-Driven Perspective on Opioid Use Disorder
The complement system is a central component of innate immunity with established roles in host defense and emerging functions in neurodevelopment, synaptic remodeling, and neuroimmune communication within the central nervous system (CNS).

Global rescue of defects in HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein incorporation: implications for matrix structure. [PDF]
The matrix (MA) domain of HIV-1 Gag plays key roles in membrane targeting of Gag, and envelope (Env) glycoprotein incorporation into virions. Although a trimeric MA structure has been available since 1996, evidence for functional MA trimers has been ...

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Renumerating wh-compound questions in Japanese at the syntax-morphology interface
In this paper, we investigate wh-compound questions in Japanese to adjudicate between lexicalist and non-lexicalist approaches to word formation. We first show that wh-compound questions pass standard diagnostic tests for wordhood in Japanese, thereby ...

Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Overriding hypothesis's interface the right way
Hypothes.is is an annotation framework that uses Pyramid to provide interface asset locations. This means that it is possible to override the interface and other components with one's own assets without simply forking the main hypothes.is repository. However, it's not actually completely clear how one does this.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Activity distribution limitation in electroactive biofilm remains an unclear phenomenon. Some observations using confocal microscopy have shown notable difference between activity close to the anode and activity at the liquid interface. A numerical model
