Intranasal interferon-alpha 2 for prevention of natural rhinovirus colds [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 1984
The prophylactic activity of intranasal human interferon-alpha 2 (HuIFN-alpha 2) against natural rhinovirus colds was determined in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. A total of 304 working adults self-administered sprays of HuIFN-alpha 2 (10(7) IU/day) or a placebo once daily.

Increased interferon alpha receptor 2 mRNA levels is associated with renal cell carcinoma metastasis

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2007
Background Interferon-α (IFN-α) is one of the central agents in immunotherapy for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and binds to the IFN-α receptor (IFNAR). We investigated the role of IFNAR in RCC.

Enhancement of vaccinia virus based oncolysis with histone deacetylase inhibitors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDI) dampen cellular innate immune response by decreasing interferon production and have been shown to increase the growth of vesicular stomatitis virus and HSV.

FREQUENCY OF SIDE EFFECTS OF ANTIVIRUS THERAPY FOR CHRONIC VIRUS HEPATITIS IN CHILDHOOD

open access: yesПедиатрическая фармакология, 2010
In pediatrics, the issue of using antivirus therapy for chronic virus hepatitis is not sufficiently studied, there is search for rational combinations, schemes, doses and length of treatment. The article demonstrates results of using a combined antivirus

Evaluation of the effectiveness of antiviral therapy for coronavirus infection (COVID-19) with the inclusion of recombinant interferon alpha-2b

open access: yesЛечащий Врач, 2022
A prospective comparative controlled study included 100 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 coronavirus infection, randomized into two groups: the main group (MG) – 50 patients receiving interferon alpha-2b preparations, rectal suppositories ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Interferon Side Effects: When Somatization Betrays You - A Case Report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Neuropsychiatric symptoms are widely reported in association with both hepatitis C and IFNα treatment [1]its sequelae, and its treatment. In particular, interferon, a primary component of treatment for chronic hepatitis C, has been strongly associated ...
