Late phase inhibition of murine cytomegalovirus replication by synergistic action of interferon-gamma and tumour necrosis factor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
We have shown previously that the antiviral function of CD4+ T lymphocytes against murine cytomegalovirus (MCMV) is associated with the release of interferon- (IFN-).

Gamma Interferon Supplementation for Melioidosis [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 2010
Mortality from melioidosis approaches 50% despite appropriate antimicrobial therapy (4), and new approaches are urgently needed. Burkholderia pseudomallei is an intracellular pathogen, and gamma interferon (IFN-γ)-mediated responses are essential for the normal host response to melioidosis (7).

Biomimetic Nanovaccine Integrating Dendritic Cell Exosomes with Tumor Cell Membranes for Sustained Prophylaxis Against Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We have developed DEX/GM, an all‐natural, personalizable hybrid vaccine designed by coating dendritic cell‐derived exosomes (DEX) onto tumor cell membranes (GM) for sustained prophylaxis against glioblastoma (GBM). ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM), one of the most aggressive and lethal brain tumors, remains incurable with a poor clinical prognosis.

Synthesis of IFN-β by Virus-Infected Chicken Embryo Cells Demonstrated with Specific Antisera and a New Bioassay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Transcripts of interferon-α(IFN-α) and IFN-β genes are present in virus-infected chicken cells, but because of a lack of appropriate assays and reagents, it was unclear if biologically active IFN-β is secreted.

Induction of interferon gamma production by natural killer cell stimulatory factor: characterization of the responder cells and synergy with other inducers

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1991
We previously reported that natural killer cell stimulatory factor (NKSF), a heterodimeric lymphokine purified from the conditioned medium of human B lymphoblastoid cell lines, induces interferon gamma (IFN- gamma) production from resting peripheral ...

Advanced 3D Platforms for Modeling CNS Neuroinflammation: Cell Integration, Techniques, and Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the roles of key central nervous system cell types, the extracellular matrix, and the blood‐brain barrier in neuroinflammation, and their integration into diverse 3D culture systems. It examines major incorporation strategies, including direct co‐culture, hydrogel encapsulation, transwell migration assays, and bioprinting ...

Polyunsaturated fatty acids in the pathogenesis and treatment of multiple sclerosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Epidemiological, biochemical, animal model and clinical trial data described in this overview strongly suggest that polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly n-6 fatty acids, have a role in the pathogenesis and treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS).

Reciprocal expression of interferon gamma or interleukin 4 during the resolution or progression of murine leishmaniasis. Evidence for expansion of distinct helper T cell subsets

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1989
We purified poly(A)+ mRNA from the spleen and lymph nodes at designated times after infection with Leishmania major in genetically susceptible BALB/c and resistant C57BL/6 mice.

Design and Synthesis of Peptide‐Polyester Conjugates for Cell‐Mediated Scaffold Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based biomaterials engineered to degrade in response to cell‐secreted proteases. A fast‐degrading peptide (Fast) sequence is integrated into a PCL conjugate backbone to produce a biomaterial that is selectively degraded by multiple cell types compared to its scrambled control (ScrFast).

Interferon-Gamma: Treatment Horizons

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2020
The review provides modern literature data on the system of interferons, their cells producers and target cells. Particular attention is paid to the immunomodulating effect of interferon-γ.
