Interleukin 11 expression in the normal canine eye
Veterinary Ophthalmology, 2013AbstractObjectivesThe purpose of this study was to characterize the expression of interleukin‐11 (IL‐11), a cytokine with anti‐inflammatory, cytoprotective, and immune‐modulating characteristics, in the canine eye.ProceduresNormal canine eyes were collected from clinically healthy dogs that had been euthanized for reasons unrelated to this study.

Interleukin 11 signaling in 3T3‐L1 adipocytes
Journal of Cellular Physiology, 2004AbstractInterleukin 11 (IL‐11) is an anti‐inflammatory cytokine with receptors located on most cell types and tissues throughout the body. Its anti‐inflammatory properties are mediated through suppression of cytokine synthesis, in large part by prevention of NF‐κB activation. As adipose tissue synthesizes and secretes cytokines involved in establishing

Interleukin-11 inhibits bone formation in vitro
Calcified Tissue International, 1993The effects of interleukin-11(IL-11) on the differentiation of osteoblast precursors was tested using a bone nodule forming assay in rat calvaria cell cultures. IL-11 caused a dose dependent inhibition of nodule formation, with 500 U/ml IL-11 resulting in complete inhibition of nodule formation.

Interleukin-11: A novel stroma-derived cytokine
Progress in Growth Factor Research, 1992Interleukin-11 (IL-11) is a novel stroma-derived cytokine that acts on both hematopoietic progenitors and stromal cells. IL-11 was originally identified in a medium conditioned by the macaque bone marrow-derived stromal cell line PU-34 and cloned as a growth factor for the IL-6-dependent plasmacytoma cell line T1165.

INTERLEUKIN-11 AND CARDIOVASCULAR PATHOLOGY
Molekulyarnaya Meditsina (Molecular medicine)Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. An important task in cardiology is the search and study of new biomarkers. Scientific interest is actively focused on the study of interleukin-11 (IL-11). The purpose of the literature review was to analyze experimental and clinical studies devoted to the study of IL-11 as a ...

[The role of interleukin-11 in osteosarcoma].
Der Pathologe, 2020Osteosarcoma is an often highly malignant mesenchymal tumor. By definition, osteosarcoma cells are able to form osteoid, which can mature into tumor bone. Osteosarcoma metastasizes preferentially to the lung. In Europe, the incidence is between 2 and 5 new diagnoses per 1,000,000 people per year. The underlying mechanisms for osteosarcoma formation are

Abstract The nucleotide sequences of IL-11 cDNAs cloned from mouse and man (mouse sequence submitted to GenBank, human sequence GenBank accession number M37006) encode proteins with 199 amino acids (Fig. 1) (Paul eta/. 1990). At the amino acid level, the mouse and human proteins are highly conserved (88 per cent identity).

Interleukin-11 and its receptor.
BioFactors (Oxford, England), 1993Interleukin (IL)-11 is a bone marrow fibroblast derived cytokine with a wide spectrum of activities in different biological systems. It has been shown that IL-11 supports the growth of certain types of plasmacytoma and hybridoma cells, enhances antigen-specific antibody responses, synergizes with IL-3 in supporting megakaryocyte colony formation, acts ...
