Paracrine Factor Local Gradient‐Generating System for Engineering Perfusable Vascularized Hepatocyte Tissues with Perfusion‐Induced Proliferation

A paracrine factor local gradient (PFLG)‐generating system enables microvessel penetration across 3D hepatocyte tissues. The resulting vascularized constructs recapitulate hepatic sinusoidal hepatocyte—endothelial contact architecture and enhance hepatic functions in vitro.

Association of serum vitamin D, IL-6 levels, and bone mineral density in pre- and post-menopausal women suffering from osteoporosis before and after vitamin D3 supplementation therapy

Background: Lack of vitamin D and estrogen both promote a spike in cytokine production, which increases osteoclastogenesis and causes bone resorption. Treatment with vitamin D strongly stimulates calcium resorption and decreases bone turnover.
