Apoptosis in the lungs of pigs infected with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus and associations with the production of apoptogenic cytokines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
International audienceApoptosis was studied in the lungs of pigs during an infection with a European strain of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) and it was examined if cytokines were involved in the induction of apoptosis ...

Interleukin-10 Promoter Polymorphism in Psoriasis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 2001
Beneficial effects of interleukin-10 therapy and lower endogenous interleukin-10 formation compared with atopic dermatitis and cutaneous T cell lymphomas indicated that interleukin-10 is a key cytokine in psoriasis. The interleukin-10 promoter is highly polymorphic, with two informative microsatellites, interleukin-10.G and interleukin-10.R.

Downregulation of sST2, a decoy receptor for interleukin‐33, enhances subcutaneous tumor growth in murine pancreatic cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Subcutaneous implantation of murine Panc02 pancreatic cancer cells depleted of sST2, a soluble decoy receptor for the proinflammatory interleukin‐33 (IL‐33), leads to a decreased number of GLUT4‐positive cancer‐associated adipocytes, reduced levels of the anti‐inflammatory molecule adiponectin, increased phosphorylation of IκBα, elevated Cxcl3 ...

Expression of interleukin 1-alpha, interleukin 6 and CD 10 in predicting recurrence of ameloblastoma

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
Purpose Ameloblastoma (AM) is a clinically significant odontogenic tumour known for its local invasive and high post-treatment recurrence risk. Despite advancements in surgical techniques, predicting recurrence remains challenging.

The effect of noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia L.) extract on interleukin 4 and interleukin 10 in Wistar rats, induced by pyrazinamide, ethambutol and levofloxacin

open access: yesJournal of Public Health in Africa, 2019
Pyrazinamide, Ethambutol and Levofloxacin are part of the anti-tuberculosis SLD that have many side effects. This response causes an inflammatory reaction that affects pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin 4 and interleukin 10.

Interleukins IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL-12 and periimplant disease. An update [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Introduction: A study is made of the usefulness of cytokines (such as interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8), interleukin-10 (IL-10) and interleukin-12 (IL-12)) as markers of periimplant disease (mucositis and periimplantitis).

Microbial profile of the appendix niche in acute appendicitis: a novel sampling approach

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study utilized a novel sampling method, ERAT (i.e. endoscopic retrograde appendicitis treatment)‐guided lumen aspiration, to obtain samples from the appendix, and shotgun metagenomic sequencing was performed for in situ characterization of the appendix microbiome in patients with acute appendicitis.

Electrical pulse stimulation reflecting the episodic nature of real‐life exercise modulates metabolic and secretory profile of primary human myotubes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Here, we introduced an intermittent electrical stimulation protocol mimicking the episodic nature of real‐life exercise in vitro by alternating low‐ and high‐frequency stimulation. In comparison with widely used continuous stimulation, it enhanced the rate of glucose and fatty acid oxidation, but not the myokine release.

Signalling pathways identified in salivary glands from primary Sjögren’s syndrome patients reveal enhanced adipose tissue development

open access: yesAutoimmunity, 2018
A characteristic feature of primary Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS) is the destruction of salivary and lacrimal glands mediated by mononuclear cell infiltration.

Ginsenoside F2 attenuates chronic-binge ethanol-induced liver injury by increasing regulatory T cells and decreasing Th17 cells

open access: yesJournal of Ginseng Research, 2020
Background: Recently, beneficial roles of ginsenoside F2 (GF2), a minor constituent of Panax ginseng, have been demonstrated in diverse inflammatory diseases. However, its roles in alcoholic liver inflammation and injury have not been clearly understood.
