Interleukin-1 polymorphisms associated with increased risk of gastric cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Helicobacter pylori infection is associated with a variety of clinical outcomes including gastric cancer and duodenal ulcer disease. The reasons for this variation are not clear, but the gastric physiological response is influenced by the severity and ...

Antibodies to interleukin 12 abrogate established experimental colitis in mice

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1995
In this study, we describe a novel murine model of chronic intestinal inflammation induced by the hapten reagent 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS). Rectal application of low doses of TNBS in BALB/c and SJL/J mice resulted in a chronic transmural

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Phase II Trial of IL-12 Plasmid Transfection and PD-1 Blockade in Immunologically Quiescent Melanoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
PurposeTumors with low frequencies of checkpoint positive tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (cpTIL) have a low likelihood of response to PD-1 blockade.

Interleukin-12 in Human Milk [PDF]

open access: yesPediatric Research, 1999
The presence of interleukin-12 (IL-12) in 39 samples of human milk was investigated using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. IL-12 (>40 pg/mL) was detected in 24 of the 39 samples collected (1408 +/- 2256 pg/mL, mean +/- SD, n = 24). A range of concentrations of IL-12 was observed in colostrum, transitional, and mature milk, with an apparent ...

Production of natural killer cell stimulatory factor (interleukin 12) by peripheral blood mononuclear cells

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1992
Natural killer cell stimulatory factor (NKSF), or interleukin 12 (IL- 12), is a 70-kD heterodimeric cytokine composed of two covalently linked chains, p40 and p35.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Interleukin-1ß mRNA expression in ischemic rat cortex [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Background and Pur pose: Interleukin-1ß is a proinftammatory cytokine produced by blood-borne and resident brain inftammatory cells. The present study was conducted to determine if interleukin-1ß mRNA was produced in the brain of rats subjected to ...

Interleukin 12: still a promising candidate for tumor immunotherapy?

open access: yesCancer Immunology and Immunotherapy, 2014
Interleukin 12 (IL-12) seemed to represent the ideal candidate for tumor immunotherapy, due to its ability to activate both innate (NK cells) and adaptive (cytotoxic T lymphocytes) immunities.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
