Randomized comparison of continuous versus intermittent bolus furosemide in neonatal heart failure

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Cardiology
Background and Aims: In term neonates with heart failure, optimizing diuresis is critical, yet evidence for best practice is sparse. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of continuous infusion versus intermittent bolus furosemide in improving ...

Potent Liver‐Tropic mRNA Lipid Nanoparticles: ApoE‐Mediated Delivery Through a Low‐Density Lipoprotein Receptor Independent Uptake Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Helper and ionizable lipids play a crucial role in determining ApoE binding and subsequent liver tropism and LDLR‐mediated uptake. Ionizable lipids primarily govern the LDLR‐independent uptake pathway. This complementary interplay between lipid components ultimately governs LNP delivery performance and therapeutic efficacy in the liver.

Liquid Metal Microrobots for Magnetically Guided Transvascular Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid metal‐based microrobots combine magnetic steering, intrinsic X‐ray visibility and softness, to navigate blood vessels even against flow. Under clinically relevant magnetic fields, liquid metal microrobots roll along vessel walls, cross endothelial barriers, and accumulate in target tissues.

Impact of Anode to Cathode Crossover in Lithium‐metal Batteries With High‐Nickel Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anode‐to‐cathode chemical crossover is identified as a critical degradation mechanism in lithium‐metal batteries. Full‐cell experiments with high‐Ni layered oxide cathodes and localized high‐concentration electrolytes reveal accelerated cathode impedance growth and CEI thickening driven by lithium‐metal anodes. The findings underscore the importance of

Pharmacokinetic Studies on Oximes in Organophosphate Poisoning: A Mini Review [PDF]

open access: yesAsia Pacific Journal of Medical Toxicology, 2014
Organophosphate (OP) poisoning is one of the most common causes of poisoning in developing countries especially in Southeastern Asia. Poisoning with phosphorus-containing organic chemicals or OP compounds can be managed with antidotes like oximes which ...

Intermittent flushing improves cannula patency compared to continuous infusion for peripherally inserted venous catheters in newborns: results from a prospective observational study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Aims: Peripheral cannulas in newborns are commonly used for intravenous treatment. However sustained maintenance of cannula patency is often difficult to achieve in this age group.
