Review of Intermittent Dobutamine Infusions for Congestive Cardiomyopathy
Pharmacotherapy: The Journal of Human Pharmacology and Drug Therapy, 1987Dobutamine is a potent inotropic agent traditionally used for treatment of acute cardiac decompensation of congestive heart failure (CHF). It acts primarily by increasing myocardial contractility and cardiac output. It has a rapid onset of action, a half‐life of 2 minutes, and a duration of action of 10 minutes.

Best Practice for Delivering Small-Volume Intermittent Intravenous Infusions
Journal of Infusion Nursing, 2020This study investigated the delivery of small-volume intermittent intravenous (IV) infusions. Laboratory protocol evaluated potential medication loss among 6 administration methods using 50- and 100-mL solutions. Significant variations existed in calculated medication loss depending on administration method and volume.

[New infusion port for intermittent infusion chemotherapy].
Gan to kagaku ryoho. Cancer & chemotherapy, 1988We devised a new infusion port for the intermittent infusion chemotherapy to the hepatic artery. This device has the following advantages: 1. A large needle (18 G) may be used to infuse the medicine because of the special urethane gum parts of the port. 2. One need only exchange the port for a new one or to the tube for continuous infusion chemotherapy

Factor VIII pharmacokinetics: intermittent infusion versus continuous infusion.
Blood coagulation & fibrinolysis : an international journal in haemostasis and thrombosis, 1996During the last few years, the purity of clotting factor concentrates has increased, especially with the advent of products derived from recombinant DNA technology. Clearly, a standard technique is needed when evaluating the in vivo behavior of these new products in hemophiliacs. The general principles of pharmacokinetics have been applied to the study

[Low-dose intermittent intra-arterial infusion chemotherapy].
Gan to kagaku ryoho. Cancer & chemotherapy, 1985Arterial infusion chemotherapy is commonly-used modality for controlling cancers located in specific regions. Previously we described a new method of intra-hepatic arterial catheterization through the left subclavian artery using a subcutaneously-implanted silicone reservoir.

Metoclopramide is an active antiemetic against cisplatin-induced acute emesis. However, the optimal administration method (continuous infusion versus intermittent short infusion) for metoclopramide has not yet been clearly defined. We have conducted a randomized crossover study to compare the antiemetic efficacy of continuous infusion of metoclopramide

Use of Intermittent Dobutamine Infusion in Congestive Heart Failure
Drug Intelligence & Clinical Pharmacy, 1986Dobutamine is a cardiac inotrope useful in the acute treatment of congestive heart failure. Dobutamine improves cardiac output, decreases pulmonary wedge pressure, and decreases total systemic vascular resistance with little effect on heart rate or systemic arterial pressure.
