Multi‐Ion Doping Controlled CEI Formation in Structurally‐Stable High‐Energy Monoclinic‐Phase NASICON Cathodes for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract illustrates the synthesis pathway, morphological feature, and thermodynamic feasibility of entropy‐engineered NASICON cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries. Abstract Overcoming the energy density limitations of sodium‐ion batteries (NIBs) requires innovative strategies to optimize cathode materials.

Electro‐Active Polymer Actuated Microfiltration Membranes: Design, Performance, and Particle Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The concept of foulant particle manipulation and detachment from active microfiltration membranes via voltage‐driven vibrations is introduced. Actuator components are initially integrated onto the filtration membranes using an airbrush spray printing technique.

Mesoporous Carbon Thin Films with Large Mesopores as Model Material for Electrochemical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoporous carbon thin films possessing 70 nm mesopores are prepared on titanium substrates by soft templating of resol resins with a self‐synthesized poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(hexyl acrylate) block copolymer. A strategy to avoid corrosion of the metal substrate is presented, and the films are extensively characterized in terms of morphology ...

Loading dose and efficacy of continuous or extended infusion of beta‐lactams compared with intermittent administration in patients with critical illnesses: A subgroup meta‐analysis and meta‐regression analysis

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics, 2020
The role of continuous/extended beta‐lactam infusions (CEIs) in improving clinical outcomes among critically ill patients remains controversial. Therefore, we aimed to compare the clinical efficacy of CEI versus intermittent administration (IA) of beta ...

Dual‐Functional Li2B4O7 Coating on Carbon Fibers for Enhanced Li+ Transport and Stability in Sulfide All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A dual‐functional Li2B4O7 coating on carbon fibers is designed to resolve the critical interfacial degradation in sulfide all‐solid‐state batteries. The conformal layer acts as a physical barrier to suppress parasitic reactions while its unique dielectric properties simultaneously facilitate Li+ transport.

Relationship between Dose of Bolus Dialysate Infusion and Blood Pressure in Intermittent Infusion Hemodiafiltration [PDF]

open access: yesBlood Purification, 2019
Background: Intermittent infusion hemodiafiltration is a recently developed convective method of renal replacement therapy using cyclic back-filtration infusion. Quick and regular infusion prevents intradialytic hypotension. However, the optimal dose of bolus dialysate infusion required to stabilize blood pressure has not been reported.

Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Continuous Infusion versus Intermittent Intravenous Heparin Injection Ef-fect on Coagulation State after Peripheral Vascular Surgery

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2011
Background: Thromboembolism is one of the major surgery complications with high rates of mortality and morbidity. We compared effects of two methods of heparin administration (continuous vs.

Acute kidney injury in critically ill cancer patients : an update [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Patients with cancer represent a growing group among actual ICU admissions (up to 20 %). Due to their increased susceptibility to infectious and noninfectious complications related to the underlying cancer itself or its treatment, these patients ...
