Post‐Therapeutic Dosimetry of Metastatic Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer With 177Lu‐PSMA: Experiences From Two University‐Based Hospitals in Thailand

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective 177Lu‐PSMA radioligand therapy (RLT) is increasingly used to treat metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Posttreatment dosimetry is essential for assessing normal organ absorbed doses. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate normal organs dosimetry in mCRPC patients undergoing 177Lu‐PSMA‐RLT from two university ...

The Essential Role of Monte Carlo Simulations for Lung Dosimetry in Liver Radioembolization—Part B: 166Ho Microspheres

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This study compares dosimetric approaches for lung dosimetry in 166 radioembolization (Ho-TARE) with direct Monte Carlo (MC) simulations on a voxelized anthropomorphic phantom derived from a real patient’s CT scan, preserving the patient’s lung density ...

Determination of 99Mo contamination in a nuclear medicine patient submitted to a diagnostic procedure with 99mTc

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2005
99mTc is a radionuclide widely used for imaging diagnosis in nuclear medicine. In Brazil it is obtained by elution from 99Mo-99mTc generators supplied by the Nuclear Energy Research Institute (IPEN).

Refining the timing of Middle Pleistocene (MIS 12 to MIS 6) ice advances into northern central Europe: sedimentological analysis and single‐grain luminescence dating of glaciotectonic complexes and tunnel‐valley fills

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
We summarize the current state of knowledge on the age of the Middle Pleistocene ice advances into northern central Europe and provide 25 new single‐grain feldspar luminescence ages of Elsterian and Saalian glacigenic sediments to constrain the age of the ice advances and their tentative correlation with marine isotope stages/substages.

Geant4-based comprehensive study of the absorbed fraction for electrons and gamma-photons using various geometrical models and biological tissues [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Technology and Radiation Protection, 2013
The Geant4-based comprehensive model has been developed to predict absorbed fraction values for both electrons and gamma photons in spherical, ellipsoidal, and cylindrical geometries.

Characterization and parameters for the effectiveness of a UV‐C device for infection control in dental clinics

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Purpose‐built UV‐C device achieves over 90% disinfection of high‐touch dental clinic surfaces. Abstract Healthcare‐associated infections (HAIs) remain a significant concern in dental settings, especially in light of increasing antimicrobial resistance.

Treatment plan dosimetric impact after catheter stretch during multi-catheter interstitial breast brachytherapy

open access: yesJournal of Contemporary Brachytherapy, 2017
Purpose: Nylon 6/6 interstitial brachytherapy catheters may stretch when exposed to moisture, mechanical tension, and body temperature. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the magnitude of catheter stretch during a course of multi-catheter ...

Biomonitoring of deoxynivalenol and deoxynivalenol-3-glucoside in human volunteers : renal excretion profiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Biomarkers for the determination of the dietary exposure to deoxynivalenol (DON) have been proposed in the past but so far no quantification of their use in humans has been carried out. Following a human intervention study with two mycotoxins, namely DON
