Chinese expert consensus on the management of hydraulic-coupled intracranial pressure monitoring via external ventricular drainage

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery
Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring serves as a critical component in the management of neurocritical care patients. Hydraulic-coupled intracranial pressure monitoring via external ventricular drainage (EVD-ICP) monitoring offers a clinically ...

A Superlubricated Magnetically Steerable Microcatheter with Integrated Optical and Fluidic Channels

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A magnetically steerable microcatheter with integrated optical and fluidic channels is developed for multifunctional navigation in tortuous anatomical environments. A surface‐grafted hydrogel coating enables low‐friction actuation. The device demonstrates stable light and fluid delivery during magnetic manipulation, offering a compact platform for ...

Precision Diagnostics in Sports‐Related Traumatic Brain Injury: Pathophysiology, Biomarker Development and Emerging Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Sports‐related traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) remain underdiagnosed, within amateur athletic cohorts. This review critically synthesises recent advancements in AI‐assisted neuroimaging, blood‐based biomarker profiling, wearable biosensing platforms for early detection, injury stratification, and longitudinal surveillance of TBIs.

Subventricular Zone‐on‐a‐Chip: A Model to Study Neurogenesis Disruption in Neonatal Intraventricular Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A human subventricular zone‐on‐a‐chip is developed to model intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in preterm infants. This platform enables the study of inflammation‐driven neurogenic disruption. Exposure to hemorrhagic cerebrospinal fluid and red blood cell lysate activated inflammatory pathways, with IL1B emerging as a key mediator.

Protocol based invasive intracranial pressure monitoring in acute liver failure: feasibility, safety and impact on management

open access: yesCritical Care, 2017
BackgroundAcute liver failure (ALF) may result in elevated intracranial pressure (ICP). While invasive ICP monitoring (IICPM) may have a role in ALF management, these patients are typically coagulopathic and at risk for intracranial hemorrhage (ICH ...
