Mitochondrial Transplantation as a Therapeutic Strategy for Inherited Mitochondrial Diseases
Mitochondrial transplantation (MTx) offers a promising therapeutic avenue for mitochondrial diseases. This review comprehensively evaluates MTx, differentiating its feasibility for mtDNA‐ and nDNA‐based disorders. It examines its potential for genetic correction, alongside inherent limitations, technical challenges, and crucial ethical considerations ...

This study investigates the prognostic utility of a novel volumetric indicator—psoas volume index (PVI)—for assessing sarcopenia in elderly rectal cancer patients. Sarcopenia classified by our proposed PVI cut‐off values was associated with poor nutritional and inflammatory status, and patients with low PVI showed significantly worse long‐term outcomes.

ZSF1 lean rats – How healthy are they?
This study aimed to examine the health status, specifically the physiology and myocardial, vascular, and skeletal muscle function of lean ZSF1 rats by comparing them to age‐ and sex‐matched Wistar rats. Compared to Wistar controls, ZSF1 lean rats exhibited lower body weight, but showed increased heart, and skeletal muscle mass.

LncRNA IMFNCR Promotes Intramuscular Adipocyte Differentiation by Sponging miR-128-3p and miR-27b-3p
Poultry meat quality is affected by many factors, among which intramuscular fat (IMF) is predominant. IMF content affects the tenderness, juiciness, and flavor of chicken.

Random regression of Hereford percentage intramuscular fat on geographical coordinates [PDF]
Abstract Accounting for genotype–environment interactions may improve genetic prediction and parameter estimation. The objective was to use random regression analyses to estimate variances and thereby heritability for intramuscular fat (IMF) across longitude and latitude coordinates within the continental United States.

Establishment of a novel cynomolgus monkey model of hyperuricemia
We established a novel hyperuricemia model in cynomolgus monkeys (A) via oral administration of potassium oxonate, hydrochlorothiazide, and adenine mixed in fruits and vegetables. This model (B) targets uric acid synthesis and enzymatic degradation, and (C) regulates renal and intestinal excretion, thereby stably elevating serum uric acid and serving ...
