From the Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction to Intrinsic Motivation: Mediating Effect of Academic Integration

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
The studies show a positive and direct relationship between basic psychological needs satisfaction and intrinsic motivation of the students. However, there is a lack of studies that analyze the psychological processes that affect these relationships. For

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Intrinsic circle domains

open access: yes, 2014
Using quasiconformal mappings, we prove that any Riemann surface of finite connectivity and finite genus is conformally equivalent to an intrinsic circle domain U in a compact Riemann surface S. This means that each connected component B of S\U is either

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Determination of the Position Vectors of Curves from Intrinsic Equations in G3

open access: yesWalailak Journal of Science and Technology, 2014
In this paper, we investigate the position vectors of the curves and the general helices in Galilean space G3. We find the differential equations for the position vectors of such curves.

Introducing the Random Phase Approximation Theory

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
Random Phase Approximation (RPA) is the theory most commonly used to describe the excitations of many-body systems. In this article, the secular equations of the theory are obtained by using three different approaches: the equation of motion method, the ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Intrinsic finite element methods for the computation of fluxes for Poisson’s equation [PDF]

open access: yesNumerische Mathematik, 2015
The main goal of this paper is to identify all piecewise polynomial finite element spaces, which are weakly non-conforming and to develop a general method for the derivation of intrinsic conforming and non-conforming finite elements from theoretical principles for the discretization of elliptic partial differential equations. The approach proposed here
