Single Photon Emitters in Monolayer Semiconductors Coupled to Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Nanoantennas on Silica and Gold Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐photon emitters in WSe2 are formed at strain hotspots created by transition metal dichalcogenide (WS2) nanoantennas on dielectric and metallic substrates. Enhanced emission properties and collection efficiencies are achieved experimentally, while numerical optimization predicts fluorescence enhancements of more than four orders of magnitude ...

Photoactive and Ultrastable Silicon/Boron Doped Diamond Photoanodes Enable Longstanding Photoinduced Electrochemiluminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a highly durable n‐Si/BDD photoanode for photoinduced electrochemiluminescence that entirely circumvents conventional interfacial passivation. By delivering a stable photovoltage under near‐infrared irradiation, the heterojunction facilitates low‐potential optical upconversion.

The role of intracellular cations in potassium ion channel gating

open access: yes, 2006
The cells that make up living organisms are enclosed by hydrophobic membranes that restrict movement of hydrophilic ions. Movement of mono-atomic ions across these membranes is made possible by ion channels.

Laser‐Induced Ultrafast Magnetic Phase Transition in 2D Van Der Waals Antiferromagnetic Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, ultrafast laser‐induced spin transfer and spin relaxation dynamics in 2D van der Waals antiferromagnetic CrI3/CrGeTe3 heterostructures are investigated. Laser excitation is demonstrated to induce pronounced interlayer nonequilibrium spin dynamics and ultrafast magnetic moment reconstruction, driving a transition from an antiferromagnetic (

Integrating Genetics With Epidemiological Measurements Identifies Burden QTLs of Inflammatory Bowel Disease across 20 Countries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The burden quantitative trait locus (bQTL) analysis integrates epidemiological data from GBD study with genotype of 2 621 978 SNPs from 2414 individuals in 1000 Genomes Project across 20 countries. rs7633471 shows the strongest effect that each increase in centi‐allele frequency of the allele C associated with 10.00 decrease of age‐standardized ...
