Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Determination of Sulfate Ion in Ferric Oxide Powder by Ion Chromatography

open access: yesKuangchan zonghe liyong
To establish a method for the determination of sulfate ion in ferric oxide powder by ion chromatography with suppression conductivity detector. The hydrochloric acid was used to decomposed samples, with 1.0 mmol/L sodium bicarbonate and 3.2 mmol/L sodium

Development and characterisation of monolithic silica stationary phases for ion chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Silica based monolithic HPLC columns have received much attention in recent years, particularly those modified for reversed-phase separations. However, for ionexchange, silica based monolithic columns have received only limited attention.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

The fabrication and modification of capillary polymer monoliths for the separation of small ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The fabrication and modification of polymer monoliths, in capillary formats, for the separation of small ions is presented. The separation of small ions using polymer monoliths has limitations and this work aims to investigate increasing the ion exchange

Development of a unified gradient theory for ion-pair chromatography using oligonucleotide separations as a model case

open access: yes, 2023
Ion-pair chromatography is the de facto standard for separating oligonucleotides and related impurities, particularly for analysis but also often for small-scale purification. Currently, there is limited understanding of the quantitative modeling of both

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Silver ion chromatography using solid-phase extraction columns packed with a bonded-sulfonic acid phase.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1989
Commercial solid-phase extraction columns packed with a stationary phase with bonded benzenesulfonic acid groups are readily converted to the silver ion form and can then be used for silver ion chromatography of lipids.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
