AbstractPhotodynamic therapy (PDT) has promising applications. However, the lethal function of reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced during PDT is typically limited. This restriction is induced by oxygen shortage in the tumor microenvironment due to tumor cell hypermetabolism and reductive chemicals overexpression in tumor tissues.

IR 780-loaded hyaluronic acid micelles for enhanced tumor-targeted photothermal therapy
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2018In this study, we propose using IR 780-loaded, CD44-targeted hyaluronic acid-based micelles (HA-IR 780) for enhanced photothermal therapy (PTT) effects in tumors. Two kinds of HA-C18 micelles were synthesized from different C18 feed ratios with degree of substitution of 3% and 13% respectively.

AbstractIR‐780 is a lipophilic dye with excellent optical and tumor imaging properties for early tumor diagnostics. Although the mechanism of tumor targeting has not been fully identified, the view that serum albumin plays an important role in tumor accumulation has been recognized.

Cyanine IR-780 for distinguishing 2-amino thiophenols from position isomers
Dyes and Pigments, 2016Abstract Developing highly selective fluorescent probes for the determination of thiophenol is very significant due to its toxicity influence in biological system. In this work, we firstly found that the commercial available cyanine dye 3H-Indolium, 2-(2-(2-chloro-3-(2-(1,3-dihydro-3,3-dimethyl-1-propyl-2H-indol-2-ylidene)ethylidene)-1-cyclohexen-1 ...

Near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent probes can deeply penetrate through tissues with little damage. To facilitate image-guided theranostics, researchers usually apply a desired amount of photosensitizers to achieve effective photothermal responses. However, these probes could easily suffer from low photostability and aggregated-caused quenching effect in ...

IR-780 dye loaded tumor targeting theranostic nanoparticles for NIR imaging and photothermal therapy
Biomaterials, 2013IR-780 iodide is a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence dye with higher and more stable fluorescence intensity than clinically applied dye indocyanine green (ICG). Meanwhile, IR-780 can be utilized in photothermal therapy with laser irradiation. IR-780 is an important theranostic agent but its lipophilicity limited its application.

IR-780 dye can be used as a sonodynamic agent against breast tumor
2015 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS), 2015Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) is developing as a new modality for cancer therapy through activating certain chemical sensitizers by ultrasound. The aim of this work was to introduce IR-780 iodide, a lipophilic cation heptamethine dye with peak absorption at 780 nm, as SDT agents for breast cancer treatment. The in vitro cellular uptake, cell viability, and
